Installation

Figure 10 shows the backplate and holder to be used with socket LGA775/1155/1156/1366 CPUs at the left, and the same pieces for AMD systems at the right. The thumbscrews at the center are for socket LGA2011 CPUs.

To install the Venom Voodoo in our CPU, first we attached the clip to the base of the cooler. It is good to attach it because some coolers use similar clips loose over the base, which makes the installation more difficult.

After that, we put the backplate from the solder side of the motherboard, placed the cooler over the CPU, and then screwed four thumbnuts to secure the cooler in place.

The last step is to snap the fans to the heatsink and connect them. We used a Y harness to do this, so the motherboard could control both fans with a PWM signal.
