Overclocking Options

The MSI X79A-GD65 (8D) has some overclocking options. Below, we list the most important ones (1.3 BIOS):
- CPU base clock: From 90 MHz to 200 MHz in 1 MHz increments
- CPU core voltage: From 0.800 V to 1.800 V in 0.005 V increments
- Memory controller (“System Agent”) voltage: From 0.850 V to 1.800 V in 0.005 V increments
- CPU VTT voltage (“I/O”)
: From 0.850 V to 1.690 V in 0.02 V increments - CPU PLL voltage: From 1.400 V to 2.500 V in 0.02 V increments
- Chipset (PCH) voltage: From 0.900 V to 1.900 V in 0.02 V increments
- Chipset (PCH) 1.5 V voltage: From 1.200 V to 1.900 V in 0.02 V increments
- Memory voltage: From 1.050 V to 2.445 V in 0.075 V increments
- Memory reference voltage: From 0.435 V to 1.150 V in 0.015 V increments

The MSI X79A-GD65 (8D) comes with a button called “OC Genie.” By pressing it, the motherboard will test and find the recommended overclocking settings for your system, allowing you to overclock your PC without having to go through the hassle of changing somewhat complicated settings manually.
