Zalman Z7 Plus has a very Spartan looks, especially when you compare it to other cases from Zalman. However, at a suggested price of only USD 75 (and will probably be found for less than that), we believe it will please the user looking for a case with features usually only available on more expensive models.
Strong Points
- Meshed bay covers with air filters.
- Vented slot covers.
- Hole in the motherboard tray for accessing the backplate of the CPU cooler.
- eSATA port.
- Screwless mechanism fastening expansion cards.
- Screwless mechanism for installing 5 1/4" devices.
- The number of hard drive bays (five or six, if the included adapter is used) will please even the hardcore user.
- Adaptor for a sixth 3 1/2" hard disk drive, an external 3 1/2" device, a 2 1/2" or a 1.8" hard disk drive or SSD.
- Removable hard disk drive cage allows you to move this piece up or down as you like.
- Rubber rings for reducing the noise produced by the hard disk drives.
- Speed controller for the side fans.
- Terrific price tag, bringing an outstanding cost/benefit ratio.
Weak Points
- Some sharp edges on the hard disk drive cage and 5 1/4" bays.
- Interior and rear panel could be painted black.
