This new version of the Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced provides a terrific cost/benefit ratio. It is affordable, has a great look, and provides all the features that users are seeking. The only negative is with the internal 3.5” bays: Cooler Master could have added holes in them in order to make them compatible with 2.5” devices.
Strong Points
- Excellent construction quality
- External 3.5”/2.5” docking bay
- Vented covers with air filters for the 5.25” bays
- Air filter for the front, top, bottom, and power supply fans
- On/off button for the LEDs of the front fan
- Support for two radiators up to 280 mm long
- Anti-vibration mechanisms for the 3.5” hard drives
- Thumbscrews for fastening expansion cards
- A huge hole in the motherboard tray for accessing the backplate of the CPU cooler
- Holes protected with rubber covers for routing cables behind the motherboard tray
- Several clips for fastening cables
Weak Points
- The internal 3.5” bays could have holes in order to make them compatible with 2.5” devices
- No air filter on the left panel
