Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Tutorial

Notice: this article is a spontaneous recommendation. We did not receive any kind of incentive to recommend this program. We are publishing it because we believe it can be useful to our readers.
Nowadays, with the big number of potential threats for your computer (collectively called malware), using only an antivirus program is not enough. It is recommended that you also have an antimalware program installed, since some antivirus programs, especially the free ones, do not scan the computer for malicious programs, like internet browser plugins.
Just like on antivirus programs, there are many antimalware programs available and each user has one they prefer. one that comes highly recommended is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (other popular programs include SpyHunter and IOBit Malware Fighter). There is no problem if you prefer another program for this function; the important thing is to have one of them installed.
Much like antivirus programs, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware has both a free version and a paid (premium) one. The list of advantages of the paid version can be seen here, but we are highlighting the real-time protection, scan scheduling, and blocking of known malware-infected websites.
After installing the program, you will see the screen shown in Figure 1. At first use, the database will be automatically updated, but after that, you will need to manually update it ( by clicking “Update >>” beside the Database Version) before scanning your computer in order to ensure the program will look for most recent malware.

Clicking the “Scan Now” button, the program will start to look for threats, as shown in Figure 2.

In Figure 3 you can see that, even using an antivirus, the program detected three threats.

Clicking “Remove Selected,” the program will remove the checked threats.

The free version works fine, but you must update the database and run it manually. Doing it once in a week will be fine.
