Overclocking Options

The MSI Z77A-GD65 has a few overclocking options. Below, we list the most important ones (10.3 BIOS):

  • Base clock: From 0 MHz to 600 MHz in 0.01 MHz increments
  • CPU core voltage: From 0.800 V to 2.155 V in 0.005 V increments
  • CPU VCCSA (“system agent,” memory controller) voltage: From 0.9250 V to 1.5850 V in 0.02 V increments
  • CPU VTT (“I/O”) voltage: From 0.95 V to 1.55 V in 0.02 V increments
  • CPU PLL voltage: From 1.400 V to 2.450 V in 0.010 V increments
  • CPU GPU (VXAG) voltage: From 1.000 V to 1.520 V in 0.005 V increments
  • Chipset (PCH) voltage
    : From 0.775 V to 1.724 V in 0.005 V increments
  • Memory voltage: From 1.000 V to 1.920 V in 0.005 V increments
  • Memory reference voltage: From 0.4350 V to 1.1250 V in 0.0250 V increments

The portrayed motherboard comes with MSI’s “OC Genie” button, which allows the user to overclock the system by simply pressing this button.

The MSI Z77A-GD65 has a series of voltage monitoring points where you can, using a voltmeter, measure the voltages for the CPU (“VCCP,” “CPU_VTT,” and “CPU_GFX”), memory (“VCC_DDR”), and chipset (“PCH_1P05”).
