Installation

Figure 10 shows the clips for installation on Intel CPUs screwed to the base of the cooler.

Figure 11 presents the universal backplate with the screws inserted in holes corresponding to socket LGA1156 (at the left) and the clip for use with AMD processors (at the right).

The backplate must be inserted from the solder side of the motherboard, and then held in place by four thumbnuts, as shown in Figure 12.

After that, you need to put the cooler over the CPU, and then screw four nuts. Figure 13 shows the Xigmatek Loki installed, with the fan already in place.

We installed the cooler according to the manual, as shown in the pictures on this page, but when we turned on the computer, the cooling performance was so poor that the computer shut down as soon as we demanded the CPU. We revised the installation and noticed that the cooler was barely touching the CPU, but not pressing it, due to the height of the thumbnuts, which kept us from applying pressure on the clip. So we reinstalled the clips in the position shown in Figure 14, which solved the problem.
